Network Engineering Technologies was originally founded as an outsourced IT department in 1993 for a world-leading diagnostics and instrumentation manufacturer in Madison, WI. At its inception, the Company provided data processing services for the manufacturer’s headquarters as well as some 62 offices worldwide. In the early 1990s, the Company began providing mainframe, hardware, software communications and system integration services for enterprise locations spanning across the Midwest.

By the mid-1990s, the Company officially registered its name as Network Engineering Technologies (NET). One year later, the E-rate program was established to ensure all eligible schools had affordable access to modern telecommunications and information systems.
