The acquisition of new retail outlets presents several challenges to a company working to integrate them seamlessly into the rest of their organization. When CVS acquired the pharmacy portion of the Albertsons’ chain in California, Arizona and Nevada, they turned to NET to help manage the project, conduct site surveys and install the new outlets’ in-store technologies.
The entire project consisted of 3 phases. Phase 1 included conducting a detailed site survey. Photos of the site were relayed to the client's corporate office for approval. Phase 2 consisted of cabling the front register line, manager’s office and pharmacy equipment. During this phase, POS equipment, electrical outlets (where necessary), new pharmacy and manager office servers, Rx equipment and wireless access points were installed.
The final phase consisted of NET Certified Service Professionals (CSPs) replacing all existing technology hardware, installing new software on the Rx servers and completing data transfers all while providing the client with real-time testing feedback through remote network connections. Coordination between CVS headquarters, onsite pharmacy personnel and NET CSPs was key to successfully bringing the project to closure.
